....Julia Galdo:

After picking up a camera at the age of 16, Julia Galdo still wanted to be a marine biologist but attended the San Francisco Art Institute instead of heading to Sea World once she finished school. Her images often involves humans and she definitely has an eye for unique scenes. Back from the land of the lost.........

.....it funny how one can feel some extremely claustrophobic when not having the technological means to reach the outside world...I remember when (not)having these things really didn't matter. I also remember when I used to be able to remember people's phone numbers...now...*chuckle*...if I loose my phone, I doubt I'll remember any of your numbers. I remember when it was cool to just talk to such-in-such in my neighborhood...or close social space. now, I keep in touch with people all over the world...and once that connection is halted, even for a couple days, it seems as if the world, just for those couple of days, seems a bit smaller. I believe we like the feeling of options/access more than the actual feeling of usage....

I say all this to say...
glad to be back online...

and now, a quote sent to me from a dear brother/friend (happy to come back and be met with this):

"Every man has consummate genius within him. Some appear to have it more than others only because they are aware of it more than others are, and the awareness or unawareness of it is what makes each one of them into masters or holds them down to mediocrity. I believe that mediocrity is self inflicted and that genius is self bestowed." - Walter Russell

A message from Deepak...

"Falling in love feels like an accidental occurrence to many people, but in spiritual terms it is not—it is the entrance point to love's journey. Romance has several distinct phases of its own for us to explore—attraction, infatuation, courtship, and intimacy—each partaking of a special spiritual significance.

In the dawning of the next stage, falling in love turns into a committed relationship, usually marriage, and the path changes. Falling in love is over; being in love begins. Spiritually, the word being implies a state of the soul; it is this state that a couple learns to nurture through surrender, the key word in every spiritual relationship. Through surrender, the needs of the ego, which can be extremely selfish and unloving, are transformed into the true need of the spirit, which is always the same—the need to grow. As you grow, you exchange shallow, false feelings for deep, true emotions, and thus compassion, trust, devotion, and service become realities. Such a marriage is sacred; it can never falter because it is based on divine essence. Such a marriage is also innocent, because your only motive is to love and serve the other person. Surrender is the door one must pass through to find passion. Without surrender, passion is centered on a person's craving for pleasure and stimulation.

With surrender, passion is directed toward life itself—in spiritual terms, passion is the same as letting yourself be swept away on the river of life, which is eternal and never-ending in its flow. The final fruit of surrender is ecstasy: when you can let go of all selfish attachments, when you trust that love really is at the core of your nature, you feel complete peace. In this peace there is a seed of sweetness perceived in the very center of the heart, and from this seed, with patience and devotion, you nurture the supreme state of joy known as ecstasy. This, then, is the path to love described in much greater detail in my new book, although it isn't the only path. Some people do not fall in love and enter into relationships with a beloved.

But this does not mean that there is no path for them, only that the path has been internalized. For such people, the Beloved is entirely within themselves from the very outset. It is their soul or their image of God; it is a vision or a calling; it is a solitariness that blossoms into love for the One. In its own way, such a love story is also about relationship, because the final realizations are the same for all of us. To realize "I am love" is not reserved only for those who marry. It is a universal realization, cherished in every spiritual tradition. Or to put it most simply, all relationships are ultimately a relationship with God."---Deepak Chopra, "The Path to Love"

my second xmas wish for this year...

...yeah, you're seeing correctly....

light bulb is a levitating yet powered lightbulb. It will float stably in midair and remain on for years without any physical contact, charging, or batteries. Ironically, with the levitation and wireless power circuitry both on, this entire package still consumes less than half the power of an incandescent bulb.

This is not a trick or a photoshop manipulation. The bulb and the casing contain hidden circuitry that uses electromagnetic feedback to levitate the bulb roughly 2.5″ from the nearest object, and uses coupled resonant wireless power transfer to beam power from the housing into the bulb itself.

Are you kidding????!!?!!!.....

...nope.

The Force Trainer simply requires its user to strap a wireless brainwave analyser around their head and then to concentrate their thoughts on raising a ping-pong ball up a 10in vertical tube. The harder they concentrate, the faster a fan in the gadget’s base spins, which pushes the ball upwards.

It’s been designed by US toy firm Uncle Milton Industries and, although it lacks the technical prowess of Emotiv Systems’ Epoc neuroheadset, The Force Trainer sounds remarkably similar to Mattel’s MindFlex game – seen at CES last week.

The Force Trainer is expected to find its way into shops later this year for around $100.

Future now...

Built by SimerLab, this levitation device uses a "sophisticated electromagnetic system" to enable the filled wine glass to seemingly float in mid-air -- the rotating platform can support up to 2-pounds.
